Pattern:American Muster
from Stack the Deck book
by Karla Alexander

Quilt Name: Crazy Beginnings
Completed: August, 2004

Bill helped select the fabrics and Cheryl created her first "big" quilt. The quilt took
on a mind of its own -- leading to the addition of the gold trim around each block and the sashing which were not in the pattern.

Quilt name: God's Jewels!
Completed: November, 2004

Donated to Child Evangelism Fellowship for fundraising in honor of John & Debbie Brown.

Beginning with the "children" fabric,
the design grew to include the colors
of C.E.F.'s "wordless" book:
Gold for Heaven - God's love
Black for Sin - spiritual need
Red for the Blood of Christ -
the way of Salvation
White for belief -
accepting Jesus as Saviour
Green for growth -
spiritual maturity

I added blue to stress the need of looking to Jesus as the guide in our daily spiritual walk.

Pattern:
Flip-Flop Fans
by Bethany S. Reynolds

Completed:
April, 2005

Created using "stack n whack" technique in
a class taught at Southwest Decoratives.

Luella Hansen was born in 1902 and made this quilt when she was a young girl around the age of 16 or 17.  It was given to her niece (Cheryl's mom) who in turn gave it to Cheryl.

Aunt Luella was one of my favorite aunts and one of the kindest ladies I ever knew.  I never heard her say a bad word about anyone.
